About The Proposals

The Chase Farm hospital site has been redeveloped considerably in recent year’s by the Royal Free Charity, with surplus land sold off for development, which has in turn part-funded the construction of a brand new hospital for Enfield residents.

The Department for Education (DfE) bought 13 acres of land from the Royal Free Charity and 4 acres from the London Borough of Enfield in December 2017. At the time of purchase the land came with outline planning consent for a 3 form entry primary school but not a nursery, with approximately 360 residential units.

The land was purchased by the DfE with the intention of building two new schools, responding to the need for more school places in this area of Enfield, which is expected to rise with the addition of new homes.

The One Degree Academy application will request a 3 form entry school with a nursery.

Housing will also be provided on the remainder of the site. The exhibition boards which were displayed at the public exhibitions can be accessed here.
